Badger Meter introduces Dynasonics® UHC100 heat meter at the 2019 Hanover trade show

With the Dynasonics® UHC100, Badger Meter Europa GmbH has expanded its product portfolio with an inline heat meter with ultrasonic technology, which was developed for the measurement of heating and cooling energy. It can be used with heating/cooling media (water or glycol solution) in centrally heated or cooled spaces such as residential houses or buildings.

The Btu Energy meter is available in nominal sizes from DN15 to DN100 with IP65/67/68 protection options. For sizes DN15 to DN50 no straight section is required. The meter has a measuring range of 0.6 to 60 m³/h and a temperature range of 0°C to +130°C at PN16/25 bar pressure ratings.


The Btu Energy meter has a flexible meter configuration with different parameters and features. It offers dual communication module options (RF/M-Bus, M-Bus/M-Bus, LoRa/M-Bus, etc.). W-Mbus 868 MHz, M-Bus, ModBus®, BACnet®, MiniBus and LoRa are available as communication interfaces.


The data registration parameter values can be hourly, daily and monthly. The data can be registered in integrated energy, cooling energy, billing energy, volume of liquid and also maximum thermal power value for heating/cooling and also date.


The pulse output value can be configured for energy or for water quantity. The user can choose between battery or external supply. The battery lifetime is 15 years.


The Dynasonics® UHC100 heat meter is MID, EN1434 and 2014/32/EC approved.
